After hearing of a paradise for bird photography, Alyssa set her sights on going down near For Desoto to capture the beauty of these majestic creatures. What she didn’t know she would find was a small trail full of small crabs and large mangroves leading out to a gorgeous cove full of Florida’s flighted friends. With a delicate beach dress pulled up out of the muck, this Great Egret modeled for Alyssa while she took photograph after photograph, swooning over the backlit highlights of the feathers on the head, neck and back.

Sometimes the beauty of the art is knowing the story behind the paint.
