The connection I feel with the animals on this planet is beyond comprehension. I photographed these Gulfport Blues a few months ago down in Ft. De Soto and they were so engaging as they watched me down on the ground fighting off fire ants to capture them quickly before they flew away. They’re so elusive. Sometimes they’ll sit for an hour preening each other and socializing and other times they’ll be there for 5 minutes and by the time the camera is ready to go they’re gone!

So here they are in all their glory. This painting poured out of me so easily because this subject matter is my favorite of all time!
