Snoop & Sunset
Snoop & Sunset
One day I was at the yacht club where we keep our sailboat. Braden and I had planned on hours of cleaning Maggie (the boat) together but I secretly had other plans when I eyed the golden light on the gathering of birds who frequent the social area of the club right by the water that connects the Gulfport Marina to Boca Ciega Bay. So I grabbed my camera and told Braden I had to use the restroom in the club (wink)……… I snuck out the back door of the club and I knelt down to take photos of pelicans and a big blue heron when I looked to my right and saw the fluffiest most full bodied Snowy Egret I’ve ever seen. These birds are particularly social and can be hilariously animated when they are hunting or if they suspect you have snacks. Needless to say, when I got the photo of this big girl, the way she was looking was as if I had just caught her bobbing her head along to her favorite Snoop Dogg song, probably Gin and Juice and it was almost as if I caught her in her moment of gleeful connection during “laiiiddd back… with my mind on my mon - (enter my camera click that shook her from her precious moment in the warm sunset light.)” That was the moment she looked at me for this photo. Sorry for bothering you girl but you just gave me the BEST expression and I can’t wait to paint you!!!!
This painting is thick delicious oil paint on gallery wrapped canvas that is raised 1.5” with a surface size of 16x40”
It comes with hanging hardware ready to hang or would look fantastic in a tasteful floater frame.
